I’m ready to drive!

Where do I start!?

1: Get your Learner’s Permit

(see Getting Your Learner’s Permit Department of Transport, for the 6 steps to your Licence)

2: Contact Sue to arrange lessons and follow her structured program

3: Register online

for your FREE K2D LESSON, then contact Sue, your accredited Keys2Drive Driving Instructor, as soon as possible to get the most benefit from this lesson. (not available with an overseas licence.)

4: Practice, Practice, Practice

Get at least 50 hours of practice, including 5 hours of night time driving, recorded in your Log Book or on the new Learn and Log app.

5: Sit your Hazard Perception Test after 6 months on your Ls

(and at least 16 and 6 months old), then continue to gain experience.

6: Sit your Practical Driving Assessment

after you have your 50 hours, including 5 night time hours, logged.

7: If you PASS (congratulations!!), you move on to Red P Plates

These must be displayed for 6 months from passing your PDA. (There are night time restrictions between midnight and 5am.)

8: If you don’t pass, don’t worry. Just book another PDA

and Sue will help you work through those pesky stalling points to pass next time.

9: After 6 months, turn those red plates around and move on to your Green P Plates!

These must be displayed for a further 18 months.

10: Get your Full Licence FREE for one year IF you have a clean record!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!

And remember ZERO alcohol, ZERO illicit drugs and HIDE YOUR MOBILE PHONE OUT OF REACH while you are driving. STAY SAFE, DRIVE SAFE.

Road Rules

For short videos of Road Rules, click here.

For a common road rules refresher, go to roadrules.rsc.wa.gov.au.  I highly recommend this site for both Learners and Supervisors!

FREE Lesson!

To register for your FREE LESSON go to www.keys2drive.com.au  You will receive a Free Lesson ID number. When you have this number, you can book the lesson with Sue.

The K2D website has lots of information to help parents and supervisors to get the most out of coaching their student in how to learn safe driving and learn safely. It is an excellent place to get started.
